Stephanie O'Planick

Stephanie Jean O’Planick, 65, of Walkersville, MD, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at her home in Walkersville, MD.
Born January 6, 1955 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of Macletta Berwager (Miller) and the late Clyde Berwager. Stephanie was the loving wife of David O’Planick with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.
Stephanie was a longtime member of Glade United Church of Christ in Walkersville, MD. Through the years she served as Junior Choir Director, Senior Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, and Consistory Member.
Stephanie worked many years in medical offices in Pennsylvania and Maryland, at Curves for Women in Frederick and Walkersville, and for more than a decade at the Candy Kitchen in downtown Frederick. She also was an owner operator of O’Planick’s Orchard in Connoquenessing, PA.
She was a devoted mother and wife as well. In addition to her husband and mother, Stephanie is survived by three children, Kristin O’Planick and her husband André Mershon of Takoma Park, MD, Kimberly Schubert and her husband Alan of Greensboro, NC, and Ryan O’Planick and his wife Kelsey of Elkridge, MD; five grandchildren, Olivia Schubert, Isaac Schubert, Alexander Mershon, Vivienne Mershon, and Noah O’Planick; and one brother, Steven Berwager and his wife Susan.
Stephanie’s smile brightened every room, and she was quick to laugh. She was known for her kindness and her warm, welcoming spirit. Memories will be cherished by all who knew her.
In light of COVID-19, public services will not be held now. The family is planning a celebration of life when conditions permit.
