Stanley L. Remsburg was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 22, 2011. He died peacefully at his home in Jefferson. He was the husband of Darlene Manning for 48 years.
Born October 8, 1940 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Clayton and Louise Remsburg.
Stanley was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon.
Mr. Remsburg served in the United States Air Force.
He was previously employed as a store manager at A&P, Super Fresh and Weis Market.
He was a member of the American Legion in Thurmont and the Moose Lodge in Frederick. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, fishing, horse shoes, taking pictures and dancing.
He is survived by a son, Michael Remsburg and wife Tina of Frederick, two daughters, Stacy Specht and husband Don of Jefferson and Rhonda Hurt and husband Robert of Crisfield; six grandchildren, Robert and Jessica Hurt, Jen and Justin Specht, Tiffany Remsburg and Stephanie Clark and husband Phil and great-granddaughter Destiny Hurt; a brother Alan Remsburg of Thurmont, sister-in-law Mary Sue Rice of Jefferson and brother-in-law, Robert Pellicot of Jefferson;
He is preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Pellicot.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 28th, 2011 at 4:00PM at the Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Ave.
