Stacey Hamlin Evans, 29, of Thurmont, MD passed suddenly on Thursday, February 27. She was born on April 25, 1984 in Baltimore, MD to Angie and Bob Hamlin. Stacey attended Catoctin High School, graduated from TESST College in the Computer Program, was a Nursing student at Frederick Community College, and worked at Dr. Richard Solomon and Associates. As a Living Legacy Foundation donor, she passed life to three individuals. Stacey had a lifelong love of animals, played and coached soccer and basketball, helped those in need, and made people laugh. She was passionate about nursing and took pride with her studies. Above all, she loved being with her beloved daughter.
In addition to her parents, Stacey is survived by her daughter Keola Evans, sister Lauren Kucharski, grandmother Edith Summerford, and special friends Sarah Purcell Legore and Jeffrey Podieh. She will be remembered by numerous family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter Summerford and Neil and Shirley Hamlin.
A family visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 2 p.m. at Graceham Moravian Church, 8231A Rocky Ridge Road, Graceham, MD, 21788. A celebration of life service with Pastor Sue Koenig officiating begins at 3 p.m. followed by interment at Graceham Moravian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stacey’s name to a scholarship that is being established to benefit Frederick Community College Nursing students: FCC Foundation, 7932 Oppossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
