SPC Tyler Brent Hammett, 21, of Frederick MD passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 in Montgomery AL.
Born on June 4, 1992 in Chambersburg PA he was the son of John Michael Hammett of Frederick MD and Kimberly Anne Walters of Smithsburg MD. He is the step son of Elizabeth Engleman-Hammett of Frederick MD and step-son of Bruce Walters of Smithsburg MD.
Brent proudly served his country in the United States Army having recently been promoted to Specialist. He was a graduate of Tuscarora High School. Brent also was a member of the drama club, show choir and concert choir. Brent was also an avid sportsman enjoying rugby and ultimate Frisbee.
In addition to his parents Brent is survived by his brother Ridge Hammett, sister Brooke Radzik, brother Austin Walters and brother Gareth Moxley; grandmother Joanna Radzik of Henrico VA; his aunts Rebecca Collingham of Mt. Airy MD, Chontelle Stotler of Keymar MD and Kelley Widdows of Henrico VA.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 3-5PM and 7-9PM. Internment will be Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 3PM at Arlington National Cemetery.
