Silas Bobby Clipp, 87, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed away on August 2, 2015 at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born on January 7, 1928 in Sharpsburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late Silas William Clipp and Lydia Elizabeth (Butts) Clipp.
He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School.
Immediately after high school, Bobby joined the United States Marine Corp.
He was employed for the Fairchild company for ten years and the MACK Truck Company for over 26 years. Eventually retiring from MACK Truck Company.
He was a life long member of the Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren.
Bobby is survived by his loving spouse of 65 years, Phyllis R. (Cromer) Clipp; daughter, Cheryl L. Madden (John) of Rockville, Maryland, son, Dwight D. Clipp (Lisa) of Ohiopyle, PA, daughter Lisa R. Kelley (companion Jim Warren) of Sharpsburg; sister Dawn (Clipp) Pryor of Keedysville, Maryland; brother, Shealy Clipp of Hagerstown, Maryland; grandchildren, Robert Madden, Cynthia Madden, Philip Karnaz, Ethan Clipp, Candace Kelley and Jacquelin Kelley; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Christopher Madden; close family friend, Alan Karnaz, and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Davis.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00a.m. at the Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren, 123 East Main Street, Sharpsburg, Maryland 21782. Pastor Jim Peyton will be fficiating.
