Mrs. Shirley W. Weakley, 66, of Thurmont, passed away after a long struggle with cancer. She was the wife of Donald L. Weakley, her husband of more than 47 years.
Born Nov. 4, 1942, in Stanley, Va., she was the daughter of the late Carlton Lee and Beatrice Nauman Wilt.
Mrs. Weakley retired from the Montgomery County schools as a media assistant.--She always enjoyed spending time with grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Pamela Jean Wetzel and husband, Daniel, of Walkersville, and Christina Lee Ware and husband, William, of Taneytown; six grandchildren, Christopher Wetzel, Jessica Wetzel, Nicholas Wetzel, Jacob Wetzel, Thomas Ware and David Ware; two sisters, Patsy Buracker and husband, Winston, and Dolores Painter and husband, Jennings; nieces and nephews, Bryan Buracker and wife, Rhonda, (their children, Chris DeCoursey and Bryan Buracker), Monica Painter and Kevin Painter.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.--Monday, June 29, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Services:
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, From the Leake's Chapel, 2266 Honeyville Road, Stanley, Va., with the Rev. Charles Turner and the Rev. Kevin Haynes officiating.--Interment will be in the church cemetery.--
Pallbearers will be Daniel Wetzel, William Ware, Christopher Wetzel, Nicholas Wetzel, Kevin Painter and Willard Jenkins.
