Shirley Lee Canter McThenia

Mrs. Shirley Lee Canter McThenia, 93, of Frederick, MD, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Northampton Manor. She was the wife of the late Lihue Wright McThenia.
Born August 12, 1913 in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Johnathan Horton and Cora Ellen Turnmire Canter.
Mrs. McThenia was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, MD. She loved reading her bible and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three sons John W. Mc Thenia and wife Mary Jane of Mt. Airy, William D, McThenia and wife Barbara of Martinsburg, W. VA and Roger K. McThenia and wife Shirley of NY, ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and her brother Kenneth Davis and wife Myrtle of Delaware. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a great grandson Jeffrey Wayne Clinton and numerous brothers and sisters.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Wednesday, February 14, from 2 - 6 p.m.
Services: Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 15, at 1:00 p.m. from the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church, Glade Spring, VA. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Glade Spring, Virginia.
