Mrs. Shirley Lee Vahle, 76, of Thurmont, MD., passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Charles William Vahle.
Born August 20, 1936 in Baltimore, MD., she was the daughter of Harvey G. and Emma Davis Crawford.
Mrs. Vahle was a member of the AMVETS Post #7, Ladies Auxillary and many other organizations. Shirley loved, and spent many hours, volunteering at the Martinsburg VA Center.
She is survived by her children Cynthia Schildt, Kathy Vahle both of Thurmont and Chuck Vahle and wife Pamela of Williamsport, grandchildren William Vahle, Michael Schildt, Daniel Schildt, Charlie Vahle and her great granddaughter Abigale Vahle.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD on Monday, April 15, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where services will be held on Tuesday, April 16, at 1:00 pm with Msgr. Edward Miller officiating.
