Mrs. Shirley W. Taylor, 76, of Woodbine, MD passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Gilchrist Hospice House. She was the beloved wife of Jim Taylor.
Born on November 14, 1937 in Yancey Co., NC, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Sylvia Williams Edwards.
Shirley enjoyed cooking, gardening, drawing, arts and crafts and going to the beach with her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Kathy Taylor-Green and husband Jim of Ellicott City, Steven Taylor and fiance Diana of West Friendship, James Taylor and wife Cynde of Elkridge and Bryan Taylor and wife Tracey of Mt. Airy; grandchildren Allison, Megan, Justin, Jennette, Suzanne, Angela, Gage, Alexa, Bailey, Vaughn and Morgan; brothers Wayne Edwards and Jim Edwards and wife Dotty.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 6-8PM and Saturday, March 29 from 10-11AM at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, 15875 Frederick Rd., Lisbon, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 11AM. Rev. Ken McDonald will officiate.
Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
