Mrs. Shirley A. Miller, 75, lifelong Frederick County resident, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born July 31, 1937 in Walkersville, she was the daughter of the late John and Ada Nusbaum Barnes.
Mrs. Miller was raised on the family farm located just north of Walkersville. She loved horses and enjoyed horseback riding in her younger years. For the last 20 years, she has resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Frederick.
An avid reader, she loved using her Kindle. Shirley loved her animals, especially her favorite Cat, Jazz. She also enjoyed listening to country music and playing bingo.
Shirley was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Kipperman and husband, Michael, of Frederick; her son, Danny Miller and wife, Connie, of Texas; a brother, Elwood Barnes and wife, Cynthia, of Pennsylvnia; a sister-in-law, Helen Nusbaum of Woodsboro; and two grandchildren, Eric Miller and wife, Lou Anne, and John Miller and companion, Kristy.
She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Nusbaum.
Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20 from the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery.
