Mrs. Shirley Ann Condon, 80, of Myersville Maryland passed away on November 21, 2015. Her loving husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will always remember her as “Grammy”, surrounded her. She was born on March 16, 1935 in Takoma Park, Maryland. Her mother Dorothy Virginia Smith and Dorothy’s husband Harry R. “Pop” Smith predeceased her.
Her three children and beloved husband survive Shirley. Her daughter, Deborah Huntt Benson, her children, Robert Douglas Benson, his wife Tina, Stephen Michael Benson, Jonathan Lee Benson and their father, Robert Benson. Her daughter, Donna Huntt Metz, her husband Tom, their daughter Jessica Ellen Metz and Donna’s son’s, Douglas Russell Whitworth, his wife Liz, David Robert Whitworth, his wife Danielle, Daniel Ross Whitworth, his partner Jennifer. Her beloved son, Douglas Leslie Huntt, his wife Cynthia, and their children, Lauren Anne Huntt, Lindsey Rae Huntt and Justin Douglas Huntt. Her 15 great grandchildren also survive Shirley.
Her loving husband Raymond Condon of 35 years of marriage also survives Shirley. His son, Dennis Condon, his wife Laura and their children, Meagan Jean Olinger, her husband Kevin, Caitlyn Mary Condon and Kelly Laine Condon. His daughter, Tracy Zinski, her husband Charles and their children Kash Colcord and Catheryn Zinski also survive her.
Shirley loved being with her husband, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her beloved pets that gave her great comfort and love. Shirley was always so proud of her large family that began with her, an only child. She was a sports fan too who cheered on her favorite teams, the Redskins and the Terps. Shirley loved gardening, canning, being outdoors, and hosting Grammy’s annual Christmas extravaganza. She also loved racecars and fulfilled her dream of racing one. Her granddaughter Jessica calls her Grammy her “Hero.” Her love and legacy will live on through her loving family.
Visitations will be held Friday, November 27th from 3:00-5:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, Maryland.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 28th at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum located in Frederick, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Frederick County Humane Society.
