Shirley Chapman

Shirley Chapman, 81, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017. Born on February 9, 1935 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Gilbert Jameson, a photographer, and Rubie Lee (Sasnett) Jameson.
Shirley worked for over 20 years for the Frederick County Government in the areas of public safety and school health.
In her younger years, Shirley was an excellent league bowler and enjoyed trips to the beach. She also loved playing cards and maintained a regular card club with her friends for most of her life. She liked to travel with her husband and was a huge fan of the Washington Redskins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 40 years, George Chapman, who passed away in 1994.
She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Richard Bright, of Mt. Airy; son Rick Chapman and his wife, Lynette of Silver Spring; son Mike Chapman and his wife, Dara of Mt. Airy; and daughter Jennifer Thornton and her husband, Matthew of Ellicott City. She is also survived by granddaughters Alison Chapman, Sarah Chapman, Melissa Chapman, and Jennifer Lampignano, grandson John Lampignano, and four great grandchildren.
