Sheryl Kay Smith

Sheryl Kay (Rawlinson) Smith, 73, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Born in York, PA on June 7, 1951, she was the daughter of Evelyn R. (Nishwitz) Rawlinson who predeceased her in 2008.

Sheryl graduated from William Penn Sr High, York, PA in 1969. After graduation, Sheryl studied at Hood College, Frederick, MD. Several years later, she started her own family. With her love of her children and empathy for all children, she provided daycare for 20+ years. 

Sheryl loved the Lord and belonged to FCF Church in Frederick County, MD. 

She is survived by and loved by her family; sons, Bryan Smith and Brandon Smith, both of Frederick; 2 granddaughters and 4 grandsons, all of Frederick, MD. Sheryl will be remembered by her siblings; sister, Lori Rawlinson (companion Timothy Frantz) of York, PA; brothers, Keith Rawlinson (wife Anita) of York, PA, and Randy Rawlinson (wife Meredith) of York, PA. 

She was also preceded in death by a brother, H. Craig Rawlinson. 

A celebration of Sheryl's life journey will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD, with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Family will hold a private service for Sherry's final journey to Rest in Peace.
