Sherri Meckes Hoskins

On Saturday, the 3rd of September 2022, Sherri Meckes Hoskins finished her journey here, at the age of 47, to be with Our LORD.   She was a devoted Christian, a loving Mother, Wife, and Friend.   

Born April 24, 1975, in Norristown, PA, Sherri was the mother of Charity and Ethan and the wife of Robert Hoskins for 27 years. Sherri was the daughter of Victor and Janet Meckes and the sister of Brian and Jonathan Meckes. 

Desiring to serve her community, Sherri competed for and won a nationwide Navy scholarship that allowed her to earn her Master of Healthcare Administration at the University of North Carolina. She subsequently became a Medical Service Corp Officer in the United States Navy and later in the Navy Reserve, where she retired as a Commander. Sherri was a member of the Medical Team of President George W. Bush and completed a tour of duty in the Surgeon General's Office under President Trump.  She also worked at Bethesda/Walter Reed Hospital for 16 years in logistics, as well as writing multimillion-dollar contracts.  During this time, she deployed to Afghanistan where she worked hard, but always found time to support friends and colleagues with her positivity and humor.

Sherri had several passions and hobbies that she loved to share. Some of these include feeding and watching the birds with her husband, drawing and painting with her family, caring for her beloved pet Argentine Tegu, finding more plants to grow in her beautiful backyard, and her most recent hobby of collecting original pieces of art. 

Sherri herself was not prideful, but she would be proud of the accomplishments made by her loved ones. She was adventurous with her family, loved seeing the beauty in life, and made sure to show love, kindness, and respect to everyone she met due to her belief that everyone deserved to be respected and cared for no matter what position they held. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her. 

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Saturday, September 17, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, where a celebration of Sherri's life will begin at 11:00 AM. The interment will be private. The family will continue to greet friends following the service from 12-2 PM
