Shelby Carter

Shelby Jean Carter, 76, of Thurmont, Maryland passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at her home. She was born January 1, 1940 in Radford, Virginia to the late Ethel and Wilmer Queen. She was the beloved wife of Gene Carter for 59 years. She and Gene resided in Rockville, Maryland for 55 years, before moving to Thurmont, Maryland. Shelby worked as an accountant with Woodmont Carpet and in the Payroll Department for Montgomery County Public Schools. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Tony and Craig Carter; daughter-in-law, Laura Carter; grandchildren, Nick, Noah, and Michael.
A Memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 12-4 pm at the family home, 10 Sylvia Circle, Thurmont, Maryland 21788.
