Shawn M. Langley, 17, of Amos Reeder Road went to be with his Lord from Washington County Hospital on Sunday, July 27, 2008.
Born October 30, 1990 in Hagerstown, he was the son of Tony and Tammy Lohman Langley of Boonsboro.
This fall he was continuing his education in Hagerstown Technical High School and would have graduated from Boonsboro High School next spring. He enjoyed playing sports, mainly football and was looking forward to his senior year. He spent a lot of time restoring a '68 Mustang, hunting with his dad and skiing with friends.
He was a member of the BAAA Football League; South Mountain Little League; and Boy Scouts of America.
He has been spending his school break working at Irrigation Unlimited, Inc. during the week and at Reeders Memorial Home in the meal preparation area on weekends.
He was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Ryan M. Langley; grandparents, Curtis and Anita Langley of Waynesboro, Pa. and Donald and Jane Lohman of Boonsboro; great-grandmothers, Edna Langley of Rosehill, Va. and Nora Lohman at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro; many aunts, uncles, cousins and his dog, Daisy.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Carroll and Edna Morgan of Boonsboro; Albert and Blanche Sigouin of Culpeper, Va.; grandfathers, Grant Langley of Rosehill, Va. and Harry (Bud) Lohman of Sharpsburg.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 31 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. James Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
