Sharon Lea Ford "Sherrie" Hammond

Sharon Lea Ford "Sherrie" Hammond, 59, of Frederick, Maryland, went home to the Lord on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 3:30 a.m. in Frederick.
Born on June 3, 1958, in Arlington, TX, she was the daughter of the late Bill Ford and Dessie Mae (Bassett) Ford.
Sherrie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 36 years, Steven C. Hammond; daughter, Heather Zoldos, her husband, Andy Zoldos and daughter, Tricia Beveridge and her husband, Dan Beveridge. Sherrie will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Lydia James Beveridge, Faith, Gibson and Sadie Zoldos.
Her love for the Lord was reflected in her mission work, email ministry and constant encouragement. She was proud of her work as a medical surgical nurse in Dallas, TX and her volunteer work with the PTA, soccer and drama programs in Walkersville, MD. Sherrie displayed her love for others through her writing and her many crocheted gifts. Her fondest memories were of traveling with her husband to Virginia Beach, Colonial Williamsburg and Mt. Vernon. She boasted often of her children and grandchildren. Sherrie was very blessed to spend her final weeks surrounded by the family she dearly loved.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.
A celebration of Sharon's life will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017, at Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick. Luis Afable will officiate.
A private family burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
