Sharon L. Sidler

Mrs. Sharon L. Sidler, 63, of Mt. Airy died on Monday April 12, 2010 at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA.

She was the wife of the late John C. Sidler who died in 1999.

Born on December 28, 1946 in Mt. Airy, she was the daughter of the late Norvel L. and Sara E. Bowman Norwood.

She was a graduate of Mt. Airy High School. She worked for Marjon Inc. the parent company to Hertz Rental Car, in the accounting department. She was a life member of V.F.W. Auxiliary, past president to the Auxiliary of the Mt. Airy Fire Co., where she has been a member for over 25 years. She was past president of the Carroll County Lady's Auxiliary of the Volunteer Emergency Services Association. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mt. Airy.

She loved nature, the mountains, poetry, animals, farming and visiting western Maryland and four wheeling.

Surviving is one daughter Jennifer Peffley and husband John of Mt. Airy, Grandchildren Jordan and Jacob Peffley of Mt. Airy. Brother Lee Norwood and wife Jean of Woodbine, Sisters Joyce Smith Patrick and husband Earl of Damascus, Sue Dawn Allen of Williamsport and Carolyn Masser and husband John of Hagerstown. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by brothers, A. Wayne., Darryl E. and Julian Norwood. Sister Doris Clay and brother in law Ronnie Allen.

Services: Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. Mt. Airy, on Thursday April 15, 2010 and from 9:30 am until time of funeral services at 10:30am on Friday April 16, 2010.

The Reverend Dennis Yocum will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
