Ms. Sharon Kay Dean, 71, of Thurmont, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born February 23, 1938, in Burrton, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Donald A. Buchanan and Georgia L. DeVoar.
She was a member of the Friends of Truth Christian Fellowship Church in Thurmont. She felt passionate about sharing her faith and studying the word of God.
She had a great love for genealogy and history.
Her friends and family enjoyed her humor and quick wit. Her life was dedicated to her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are children, Lawrence P. Dean of Tampa, Fla., Donald Dean of Boonsboro, Md., Jason Dean and wife, Stefanie of Warwick, R.I., Molly Jacobs and husband, Matthew of Thurmont, Md. Step-children Jessica Boetker and husband, Doug of Severna Park, Md. and Harold Weller of Johnsville, Md.
She is survived by 13 grandchildren, Nathan Dean and wife, Blair of Tampa, Fla., Andrew Dean, Ryan Dean and wife, Gift all of Laie, Hi., Evan Dean, Justin Dean both of Orlando, Fla., Austin Dean of Boonsboro, Md., Gracie Dean, Adrienne Lafleur, Nick Lafleur all of Warwick, R.I., Claire Jacobs, Evan Jacobs, Colin Jacobs all of Thurmont, Md., and Kylee Boetker of Severna Park, Md., and numerous nieces and nephews.
