Sharon Ann Younkins, 60, of Boonsboro, Maryland, went to be with her loving Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her home.
Born on April 23, 1951, in Hagerstown, she is the daughter of Della M. (Deener) Younkins of Boonsboro and the late John G. Younkins.
Sharon was a 1969 graduate of Boonsboro High School and she went on to graduate from the Hagerstown Business College.
She was formerly a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren and she spent one year in the Brethren Volunteer Service in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Sharon has been formerly employed at the Washington County Court House, The Victor Cullen Academy, the Frederick School for the Deaf, and was also an employee of the Department of the Navy in Washington, DC.
She will be fondly remembered for enjoying making homemade jewelry, her love for animals, children and the elderly. Sharon was always lovingly doing things for other people.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister, Debbie S. Violet and her husband Larry, of Clear Spring, Maryland; two brothers, Mark W. Younkins and his wife Teena of Hedgesville, West Virginia, and Michael A. Younkins and his late wife Cindy of Keedysville, Maryland; five nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and great-nephews with one little girl on the way. She will also be greatly missed by her loving dog, Jongi.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
