It is with great sadness that the family of Sharon McGuire, lovingly referred to as Sam or Sammy, announce her passing on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the age of 84 years.
She is remembered by her daughters Mollie McGuire-Fish, Kate McGuire-Kohlhepp, and Grace McGuire; Grandchildren: Kara Paul (Eric, Hannah, Jake), Mariah Krouse, Ben Fish, Kerri Scarborough (Bo, Olivia); Kevin Kohlhepp, and Jason Fish. Nephews: Gary Rhodes, Mike Falconer (Melinda, Isa, Layla), Steve Falconer, Eric Falconer (Maggie), Robbie Falconer (Angela); and Nieces: Abbey Stanley (Lazarus, Sophia, Isaiah), Tracy Falconer, and Jennifer Ruibal.
She is preceded in death by her mother Margie Bowman, father Jim Falconer; husband Mac McGuire; sons Sean McGuire, Brian McGuire; son in laws: Edward Kohlhepp, and Greg Fish; Siblings: Tom Falconer (Darlene), Mike Falconer (Trudy), Debbie Rhodes (Rod), and Jim Falconer (Teresa), and niece Melissa Rhodes (Joshua).
Born December 10, 1940, in Sacramento, California and raised in Sacramento and Folsom, California. She married young and moved to Maryland in 1960.
A dedicated daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Sam spent her life enjoying reading and learning. She always said the snail was her spirit animal. She loved birds, flowers, and plants. She was a person that people would sit and talk to and fall in love with her. She was a gentle, quiet soul who always looked for the good in others and treated all people lovingly
Sammy was a devout Catholic and supported multiple causes through donations and fundraising, including St. Joseph Indian School, UnBound, and St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
Sam cherished being with family and friends and listening to music or reading. A very generous soul who opened her home and heart to multiple people who were considered family.
Private services will be held at a later date in Emmitsburg , MD. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her name to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
