Sharon Kahler

Sharon Kahler, 81, of Walkersville, Maryland, former resident of Crestview, FL, passed from this life peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023.  

Born on June 9, 1942 in Green Bay, WI, she was the loving daughter of the late Leroy Otto and Leona (Hirte) Otto.  She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Kahler, whom she was married to for 48 years; her youngest daughter, Cindy Kahler; and her granddaughter, Taylor.

Sharon graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High in Appleton, WI.  Her life goal was to be mother and have many children as she was an only child.  She accomplished this in raising four children and being a grandma to seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.   

Sharon was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.  In her free time, she enjoyed word searches, watching movies and TV shows (fan of Judge Judy), and spending time playing card games (Hand and Foot) with family and friends.   

She is survived by her children, Sheila Kahler, Julie (Ed) Foor and Rodney (Billie Jo) Kahler; her grandchildren, Alissa (Shaun) Gunter, Amber Foor, Nicholas Kahler, Madelyn Kahler, Caleb Harriss, Noah Harriss, and Ethan Harriss; and her great-grandchildren, Collin Gunter and Hannah Gunter.  She will be remembered by her extended family and friends, including her long-time friend she’s known since 2nd grade, Joanie Stillman.  

The family wishes to thank the caregivers from Right At Home for their compassion and caring of Sharon.  

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Walkersville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sharon’s name to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or to Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, WI. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at StaufferFuneralHome.com.
