Ms. Sharon Virginia Eyler, 61 of Walkersville, MD passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born January 18, 1949 in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of the late Roger A. Eyler and Erline Keeney Eyler.

Sharon attended the St. Paul’s Utica Lutheran Church.

She retired after 32 years with the Frederick Towne Bank as a bookkeeper. She owned A Country Florist in Walkersville for 8 years.

She loved quilting, painting and spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She also loved her dog, her loyal companion Sadie Mae.

She is survived by a son, Joey Devilbiss and wife Billie Jo of Thurmont, a daughter Wendi Devilbiss of Walkersville, five grandchildren, James Mullican, Elizabeth Devilbiss, Carlie Devilbiss, Josie Devilbiss, and Jacob Callahan, two sisters, Charlotte Haines of Frederick and Gloria Eyler Handley and husband Robert of Walkersville, a brother, Roger “Sam” Eyler, Jr. and wife Shirley of Walkersville, sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Eyler and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Wayne Eyler and a brother-in-law, Melvin Haines.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville on Thursday, December 30 th from 7:00-9:00PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 31 st at 10:00AM with Rev. Bert Lane officiating. At the family’s request, funeral services will be casual.

Interment will be in Glade Cemetery, Walkersville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul’s Utica Lutheran Church, 10625 Old Frederick Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
