Sgt. Anthony Knox

August 16, 1975 — July 17, 2018

Sgt. Anthony 'Tony' Wayne Knox, 42 of Woodbine, Maryland, passed away on July 17, 2018 at his home, following a two year battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Meredith Leigh Knox.

Sgt. Knox was born on August 16, 1975, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He is the son of Lawrence Wayne and Linda Carol (Fortner) Knox. He was veteran of the United States Army. Following his military service, he served with the Department of Defense Police and the town of Edmonston Police Department. Sgt. Knox currently served with City of Hyattsville Police Department as the Patrol Squad Sergeant in charge of the Departments K-9 division, faithfully serving with his K-9 partner Ori.

In addition to his wife and parents, Anthony is survived by his four children, Kellen Polk and Logan, Taylor and Ethan Knox; in-laws, Jim and Jo Ann Eckfield, and Jeff and Carmen Williams; sister, Shawn Ashcraft; sister-in-law, Shannon Roenicke and husband Andrew, brother-in-law, Michael Williams and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his many friends, brothers and sisters in law enforcement.

He was preceded in death by his aunt Sheryl Sponenburg and his beloved K-9 partner Ori.

The family will receive friends from 11-1pm on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Calvary Assembly of God, 8234 Woodboro Pike, Walkersville, Maryland 21793. A Celebration of His Life’s Journey will be celebrated at 1pm on Friday at the church. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carroll County Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.

The family will be asking for memories to be shared via email at remembering206@gmail.com. These memories will be used to create a life story book for his children.
