Feva Maillet Carter, 72, of Naples, Florida, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD with her husband and sons by her side. She was the beloved wife of Tom K. Carter for 56 years.
Born on August 2, 1950, in La Digue, Seychelles, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Missy Marie (Bouchereau) Maillet.
Feva was a world traveler. Her first adventure was in India, followed by Bangkok, Thailand (at the age of 16) with her husband, Tom. Throughout her life, they traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Malaysia and Africa, just to name a few.
She was the glue that held her family and friends together. If you heard the phone ring, it was probably her, just making sure you were doing ok. Feva had a love for flowers (except for carnations. “I do not like them!” she would say with a laugh) and was gifted with a natural green thumb. She loved cooking and entertaining, her orchids, her family, grandkids and anyone she came to know over a glass of wine.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by, her loving sons, Lance (and his wife, Annette) of San Diego, Ca, and Christopher and girlfriend Suzie of Mt. Airy, Md, and four grandchildren: Sean, Anna, Ella and Sadie. They lovingly called her Granny C. She also leaves behind thirteen brothers and sisters who reside all over the world.
The family will receive friends from 3-6 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
A celebration of Feva's life will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, December 9, 2022, at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road in Maryland. Monsignor Richard Murphy and Deacon Larry Matheny will officiate. Interment will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Research, in her memory of her best friend, Vernette Molloy.
