Scott Bloyer

Scott R. Bloyer, 39, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 23, 1974, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he is the son of Evelyn M. (Violet) Crawford and husband Merle of Boonsboro, and the late Robert K. Bloyer, Sr.

Scott was a 1992 graduate of Boonsboro High School and he earned his Associate of Arts degree in Accounting from the Hagerstown Community College.

He was employed for 17 1/2 years at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland, where he enjoyed playing softball and golf on the leagues with his co-workers.

Scott was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who always made time to attend his nieces and nephews sporting events.  He will be fondly remembered for his love of all things outdoors, especially hunting, golfing and four-wheeling.  Most of all Scott loved the Maryland Terrapins and in his final days he had the opportunity to spend time with players from the team.

In addition to his mother and step-father, Scott is survived by his sister, Kendra S. Cole and husband David of Boonsboro; three brothers, Robert "Joe" Bloyer, Jr. and wife Leesa of Williamsport, Maryland, Allen L. Crawford and wife Pamela Rutherford of Boonsboro; and Daren L. Crawford and wife Casey of Maugansville;  one step-sister, Brenda Bowman and husband Wayne of Boonsboro; one step-brother, Michael Crawford and wife Jan of Falling Waters, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.  He will also be deeply missed by his companion, Therene Hebron and her daughter Elisha of Hanover, Pennsylvania

A funeral ceremony in celebration of Scott's life journey will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.  Rev. Jack C. Payne, Jr. will officiate.  Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery at Locust Grove in Rohrersville, Maryland.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the funeral home.

The family requests that anyone able to attend the viewing and service for Scott come dressed in Maryland Terps attire.
