Sarah Elizabeth (Gloss) Jones, 69, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at  Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born on September 23, 1941  in Trego, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Milton and Goldie Louise (Long) Gloss.
Sarah was a member of the class of 1959 at Boonsboro High School.  She also attended Hagerstown Junior College and Liberty University.
She was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro, where she had established and coordinated the SHARE program.  She was also a past member of the Rohrersville Homemakers.
Sarah began her working career at the Coffman Cancer Research Center in Hagerstown where she was employed for five years.  She retired after 32 years of employment with Washington County Hospital having worked as a Cytotechnologist and Department Head.
She will be fondly remembered for her professional cake decorating.
Sarah is survived by her loving husband, Eldon "Jake" Jones; her daughter, Shari Palm and her husband Jeff of Keedysville, Maryland; her two grandchildren, Andrea Horton and her husband Zachery of Keedysville and Bradley Palm of Lacey, Washington; and her two great-grandchildren, Mia and Dylan Horton.  She is also survived by a special family member, John Heltibridle of Boonsboro, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  The Rev. Robert G. Brennan, Jr. will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
Friends may visit beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the funeral home where the family will be present to receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church Building Fund, 134 South Main Street, Boonsboro, Maryland, 21713.
