Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Gilbert, 72, of Brunswick, MD passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Gilbert, Sr.
Born September 19, 1940 in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Daisy Aphelia Beard Lawson.
Mrs. Gilbert worked for National Geographic for 27 years prior to her retirement as a cafeteria worker, cashier and a most recently a mail clerk. Sarah loved cooking and baking. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, going to the casino, shopping and game shows.
In addition to her husband she is also survived by her children Ronald Preston Gilbert, Jr. and wife Katherine of Brunswick, Allan Michael Gilbert of Frederick; granddaughter Kayla Paige Scott of Brunswick; sister-in-law Mary L. Morris of Brunswick and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Jean Allison Generett, Clarence Edward Lawson, Jr., Clarice Lawson, James Lesley Lawson and Calvin Howard Lawson.
The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 10-11 AM where a funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Pastor Kaye Coates will officiate.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
