Sara Tresselt

Miss Sara E. Tresselt, 36,  of Jefferson, Maryland, passed  Friday, September 11,, 2015 at her home, after fighting cancer for four years.

Sara was born in Frederick, October 25, 1978 the daughter of Robert and Suzanne Tresselt of Snow Hill, Maryland.

She graduated from Gov. Thomas Johnson High School, Shepherd College (BS) and Frostburg University (MS).  In earlier years she was very active in Student athletics; playing softball, soccer and basketball.  She was a member of several traveling tournament softball teams.  She displayed an early interest in criminal justice and later became a Deputy Sherriff for Loudoun County, Va.  At the time of her death she was a Detective with the Sex Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division and had achieved the rank  of Sergeant.    She enjoyed helping people both in her career and in her everyday life, working with the soup kitchen,  homeless shelter and missionary work. Sara attended and was very active in Grace United Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by  her brothers Kenneth G. Tresselt of Charles Town, WV and Allen T. Tresselt and wife Heather, a niece Gretchen Tresselt and a nephew Louis Tresselt all of Chester, NJ, her maternal grandparents Theodore and Irene Tzianabos, her uncle Peter Tzianabos and wife April and cousins Katherine and Madeline Tzianabos all of Atlanta, GA.   She will fondly be remembered by her beloved Elizabeth Tinker and her god children Noah and Micah Sewell.

Sara loved her pet dogs Jade, Gunner and Luke.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, September 15, from 6-9:00 pm.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 16, at Grace United Church of Christ, 25 East Second Street, Frederick.

Interment will be private
