Mrs. Sandra Kay Layman, 65 of Walkersville, Maryland, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Ronald Layman.

Born August 15, 1943 in Charleston, WVA, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Katherine Wood Chapman.

Sandra was an avid bingo player, enjoyed reading and especially enjoyed socializing with all who were around her. She also enjoyed taking rides through the countryside with her husband.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her stepchildren Ronald Layman, Jr and wife Nicki of Boonsboro, Julie Layman, Meghan Layman and John Layman all of Walkersville. , two step-grandchildren Samantha and Isabella, six sisters Claudia Chapman of Ellicott City, MD, Virginia Barker and husband Michael of Charleston, WVA, Joyce Terry and husband James of Glen Allen, AL, Rose Margolis and husband Michael of Rockville, MD, Debra Masters and husband Steve of Fayetteville, WVA and Jo Brown and husband Eddie of Jacksonville, FL, nine nieces and twelve nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons Lawrence Van Robson and John Martin Robson and a brother James Dennis Chapman.

Services: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Benjamin Breakall and Rev. Chris Glass will officiate.
Interment will be private.
