Sandra "Sonnie" Rebecca Hardy

Sandra "Sonnie" Rebecca (Merriman) Hardy, 78, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Fahrney - Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Maryland.

Born on January 15, 1947, in Brunswick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Paul Merriman and Mary Louise (Chambers) Fleetwood

Sonnie enjoyed her life in Brunswick, MD as a local beautician and then as a clerk at Brunswick Hardware. She retired from FCPS loving her job as “the lunch lady” for the Brunswick schools

She is survived by her son, Jack Hardy, and wife Tiffany; two grandchildren, Jake Hardy, and wife Nicole and Miranda Hardy; her sister, Linda Spring, and husband Larry; her brother-in-law Cliff Geisbert and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Paul “Snookie” Merriman and wife Mayra and sister Carol “Sissy” Geisbert. Sonnie will also be remembered by her friends and the wonderful staff at Fahrney - Keedy Memorial Home

The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.

A celebration of Sonnie’s life will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral in Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. Tim May will officiate. Interment will be private. Sonnie will be laid to rest at Lovettsville Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, Virgina
