Sandy Phillips

Sandra (Sandy) Phillips, 75, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD.

Born on October 15, 1948, in Trion, GA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Mills Crawford and Sara Ophelia (Stone) Crawford.

Sandy earned her Bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University in South Carolina, and after raising her children she was a librarian with the Carroll County Public Library system.

During her retirement she enjoyed book club, gardening, bird watching, watercolor painting, and cheering for Clemson football. 

She is survived by her children; James Phillips and his wife Elizabeth of Eldersburg, MD, Amy Phillips of Union Bridge, MD, David Phillips and his wife Julie of Laguna Niguel, CA, and Megan Rosier and her husband Robert of Frederick, MD, as well as her grandchildren, Joey, Will, Jack, Sam, and Lia. Sister to Patricia Crawford and predeceased by her brother Bobby Crawford.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.

A celebration of Sandy's life journey will take place at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the funeral home.
