Sandra T. Koontz , 77, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania formerly of Emmittsburg, MD passed from this life on Monday, May 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 15, 1940, in Jacksonville, FL, she was the daughter of the late Jack Stone and Teresa (Wilson) Stone.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles K. Koontz, Sr. for 54 years.
Sandra was a long time employee at the Frederick County Public School System, retiring in 2004. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved being a grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children Teresa Koontz-Hohmann and her husband Richard, Sandra Johnson and her husband Danny and Charles Koontz, Jr. and his wife Karen;
sister, Jackie Hoppenbrower. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and her beloved cat, Candy.
She is predeceased by her grandson, Donald Powell, Jr. and great granddaughter, Codie Powell.
Services and interment private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or AseraCare Hospice.
