Sandra Irene Abbott, 74, of Germantown, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital in Germantown, MD
Born on February 9, 1944, in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late John Edward Henrikson and Dagny Irene (Johansson) Henrikson, she lost her mother at the age of 4 and was raised by her maternal aunt, Valborg Peterson.
She was a great humanitarian with a passion for animals.
Sandra was a great mother and best friend to her daughter, Andrea Whetzel.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 27015 Ridge Road Damascus, MD 20872 from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
A celebration of Sandra's life journey will follow at the church at 11:00 am.
Interment will be private.
