Samuel Winkelman

Samuel Kyle Winkelman, 20, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed away on  June 19, 2015 at his home in Baltimore.

Born in Leesburg, Virginia on November 27, 1994, he was the son of Donald L. Winkelman and Susan C. (Jarrell) Jacobs.

He graduated from Boonsboro High School in 2013. He attended Towson University. While on summer vacation, he was working at Home Depot and previously for Bee Landscaping in Boonsboro. Sam was going back to school in September, attending the Community College of Baltimore County.

Sam loved playing football and lacrosse for school. He enjoyed off-roading with his father, fishing with his friends, and working out at the gym. He was a big Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins fan. Sam had the biggest heart and was a very warm hearted person.

In addition to his parents, Sam is survived by his siblings, Ashley, Danny, Lyndie, Tyler, Allison and Dylan; grandparents Joan Winkelman, Sherry Jacobs, and Roy Sharitz; his niece, Zoey Collins and nephew Seth Collins; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rachel Sharitz and Barry Winkelman.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Edward J. Wade will be officiating. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Hillsboro Cemetery in Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the funeral home.
