Samuel Lewis

Samuel Merritt Lewis, 66, of Frederick, MD passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Cleo (Harrell) Lewis for more than 45 years.

Born February 14, 1951 in Cumberland, MD he was the son of the late Gerald Lewis and Juanita "Louise" ( Reckley) Lewis.

Sam was a member of Parkway Community Church where he was Praise & Worship Leader, occasionally delivered sermons.  His true joy in life was his family and especially his wife, children and grandchildren.

In addition to Cleo he is survived by his son, Nathan and wife Holly of Hanover; daughter, Tanya of Frederick; two grandchildren Joshua and Emily. He is also survived by his brother Charles and wife Lisa and three sisters Joyce Stewart and husband Arney, Carol Cregger and husband Cecil and Naomi Underwood and husband Dale.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 6-8PM where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2 at 11AM.  Pastor Howard Ruley will officiate.

Interment will be private.
