Samuel Householder, Jr.

Mr. Samuel E. Householder Jr. of Jefferson passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016.

He was born December 22, 1955, in Frederick, MD and graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in 1973.

Sam started his mapping career while still in high school and worked for Frederick County Government in mapping and Geographic Information  Systems (GIS) for 39 years before retiring in 2011.  He was currently doing GIS contract work part-time for the CIty of Brunswick.

Sam enjoyed camping and NASCAR, and particularly enjoyed making Belgian waffles for everyone on race morning.  He was also  an avid fan of all things Ford, especially his Ford trucks.

He is predeceased by his parents Samuel E.  Householder Sr and Mary Elizabeth (Deater) Householder and his mother-in-law Ann Brose.  He was also predeceased by his kitty BFFs Muffin and Precious.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years Terri, his father-in-law E. Paul Brose Jr. of Littlestown, PA, and Sochi, his beloved cat.

Sam is also survived by large circles of friends he considered his family,  including the car show group, NASCAR gang,   Frederick County employees, City of Brunswick coworkers, Heltibridle family and many many others.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, March 1, from 3-5 and 7- 9:00 pm, where services will be held Wednesday, March 2, at 10:00 am.

Said a friend:  "If Sam hadn't helped you, it was only because you hadn't asked. "  Sam was a gentle and generous soul with a great sense of humor.  He will be missed by all that knew him.
