Samiko Jeanne Nakamoto

January 5, 1945 — June 29, 2008


Samiko Jeanne Nakamoto, nee Nakayama, formerly of Seabrook, NJ, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She left her world of pain to join her parents and son-in-law, Allen.

Born in Poston, AZ, she graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1963. She continued her education attending Wood Business School in New York City, NY. She started her career in NYC at New York Travel Agency, she stayed at home raising her three children until they were in middle school. Working for 18 years, she retired from the City of Frederick in 2007.

Daughter of the late Masakazu and Aiko Nakayama, she also was predeceased by her son-in-law, Allen Yingling.

She is survived by Sonny, her husband of 38 wonderful years; one brother,Masao Ronald Nakayama and wife Dee of Lawrenceville, NJ; one sister, Hiroko Peggy Sabla and husband Joseph of Bridgeton, NJ. Two daughters Jennifer Nakamoto and husband Michael Callan of Jefferson, MD and Sharon Nakamoto and husband Matthew Davis of Frederick, MD; one son Richard Nak of Chambersburg, PA and wife Samantha of Fairfield, PA. Three grandchildren, Trevor and Leilani Boo Davis of Frederick, MD and Anastasia Nakamoto of Chambersburg, PA, one niece, Kristina Nakayama of Lawrenceville, NJ and four nephews: Jim Nakayama of Silver Spring, MD; Tony and Greg Sabla, both of Bridgeton, NJ and Jeff Sabla and his fiancee, Patty Donath of Vineland, NJ.

Services: Friends may call on Saturday July 5, 2008 from 2-4pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 where Memorial Services will begin at 4:00pm. The Reverend Tim May will officiate. Interment will be at Punalu`u Beach Black Sand Beach on the big island of Hawaii. Family request casual attire please.
