Mrs. Sally Lou Grandstaff, 75 of Emmitsburg, MD passed away on Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Gettysburg Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lewis S. Grandstaff, Sr. They were married for 51 years.
Born November 4, 1933 in Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late John Thornley Seabrook and the late Ethel Brown Seabrook.
Sally retired from the Provincial House in Emmitsburg after 30 plus years. She was a member of Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.
She also sang in the Emmitsburg chorus, enjoyed to cook and loved her many animals.
She is survived by five children, Elisabeth Scully and husband John of Fairfax, VA, Valerie Friday and husband Kevin of New Market, Julie Wohlfarth and husband John of Frederick, Lewis S. Grandstaff II of Emmitsburg and Sharyl Grandstaff of Springfield, VA, ten grandchildren, Connor, Joe, Libby, Trisha, Sean, Matthew, Michael, Lewis , DJ and James and a sister, Lee Seabrook Collier.
She will also be remembered by a close friend Brad Greenway.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Royall Seabrook, John Thornley Seabrook and Frederick Brown.
Our mother and father together again at a place called Kingdom Come. A place where pain and sorrow is erased and walking hand in hand where the streets have no name. A place where all colors bleed into one. Just imagine.....
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont on Thursday, October 22 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Services:
A Mass will be held on Friday, October 23, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 47 DePaul Street, Emmitsburg, MD with Rev. Michael Kennedy officiating.
Interment will be private.
