Ruth Hilda Johnson

Mrs. Ruth Hilda Johnson, 86 of Thurmont, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at her home. She was the wife of the late James Wilson Johnson, Sr. who passed away in 2008.

Born May 26, 1923 in Lewistown, MD she was the daughter of the late Pearson and Lillie Rice.

Ruth was a member of the Edgewood Church of God. She loved playing bingo. She enjoyed her flowers, birds and fish. She also loved her dog, Frisky and her cat Bones.

She is survived by her three children, Patricia Ann Harding of Frederick, James Johnson, Jr. of Thurmont and Debora Tavernie and her husband Dale of Thurmont, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, three sisters, Olivia Hoffman, Hazel Deyton and Rachel Watsler. She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a son, David Eugene Johnson, brother, Nelson Rice, two sister, Dorothy Owens and Betty Deyton.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, August 24 from 12-2 and 4-6PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 25th at 1:30 PM.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
