Ruth F. Stockslager, age 92, of Funkstown, MD, died Monday, July 14, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born Aug. 1, 1915 in Benevola, MD, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary V. Kline Fisher.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Coffman Stockslager, on Feb. 8, 1982.
She was a 1933 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
Ruth was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown and was a former member of Benevola United Methodist where she served in the nursery for over 20 years.
Ruth is survived by one daughter, Dorothy S. Gonder and husband Jim of Funkstown; two granddaughters, Jessica Lorine Gonder and Katie Elizabeth Gonder, both of Funkstown; a special granddaughter, Robin Vance and husband Jack of Big Pool; two special great-grandsons, Nicholas and Samuel Vance; and her devoted canine companion, Ebby.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret J. Fisher.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Thursday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Revs. Hayden Sparks and Ron Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
