Mrs. Ruth E. Steinheimer, 96, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Joseph Steinheimer.
Born November 14, 1916 in Manhattan, New York, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Ellen McKenna Hunt.
Mrs. Steinheimer was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Ruth was a very kind hearted lady who enjoyed caring for her family and loved watching little children play. She was a good wife, mother and friend
She is survived by her son Robert Steinheimer and wife Mary of Frederick and her daughter Evelyn Durning of New York, grandchildren John T.Durning, Jr (Pamela), Robert J. Steinheimer (Kathy), Deirdre E. Borgea (Lee), RuthAnn C. Thurber (James), eleven great grandchildren and her niece Jeannine Romandetti. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cynthia Messimer, her sisters Ellen Davis, Marian Carroll, brothers John Hunt, William Hunt and step-brother Gilbert Brennan.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, June 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 28 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 112 E. Second Street, Frederick with Father Michael Jendrek as celebrant. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
