Mrs. Ruth E. Krepps, 97, of Frederick died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Homewood at Crumland Farms. She was the wife of Guilford L. Krepps, Sr. who died June 11, 1972. They were married in Frederick on Feb. 11, 1934.
She was born on Sept. 17, 1916 on a farm near Burkittsville to Charles T. and Rosa Flook Wallace. She was a member of the Homebuilders Class of Frederick Church of the Brethren. She attended school in Burkittsville and Frederick. She was an avid cook and baker. She worked many jobs over the years including cooking at Woolco, Peoples Drug, FMH, Citizens Nursing Home, W. Fred. Jr. High, and St. John's at Prospect Hall. Mrs. Krepps also worked at Gem Laundry and was a seamstress at Marcus Cleaners. She gave of herself to her many friends and relatives. She enjoyed the senior swimming group at the YMCA, making fudge and cookies, playing Canasta and 500. She had volunteered at FMH and at Country Meadows' Gift Shop.
Mrs. Krepps is survived by a daughter, Elinor E. Dutrow and Francis; a son, Guilford L. Krepps, Jr. and Mary; four grandchildren, Scott A. Dutrow, Karen L. Dutrow, Lora Lesh and Thomas, and Dr. Benjamin Krepps and Melissa; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, James, Howard and Charles Wallace, and a sister, Mable Fry.
Private graveside services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
