Mrs. Ruth Elaine Hurley, 69, of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Northampton Manor Center, Frederick. She was the wife of Alfred E. "Zeke" Hurley, her husband of 51 years.
Born on May 29, 1942, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Scheller Brown. Mrs Hurley was a supervisor at the CVS store in the Fredericktowne Mall for 23 years. She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and the Mt. Airy Swim Club. Ruth enjoyed bowling, Bingo and homemaking.
Surviving in addition to her husband are 3 children: Bruce E. Hurley of Westminster, Ronald L Hurley and wife Vivian of Mt. Airy and Connie E. Burke of Gaithersburg. Mr. Hurley was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Hurley.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 1, at Prospect United Methodist Church, 5923 Woodville Rd., Mt. Airy, MD 21771, with Rev. Earl Mason and Rev. Vicki Curry officiating.
Inurnment will take place in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the above named church.
