Mrs. Ruth F. Franklin 86, of Mount Airy, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Lorien Life Center, Mount Airy. She was the wife of the late George L. Franklin who died in 1991.
Born on October 23, 1928, in Woodbine, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Mumford Duvall. Ruth worked as a shipping and receiving clerk for Hamilton Associates in Owings Mills.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, bowling and country music, and loved going to the beach.
Surviving are two daughters: Doris Ann Snyder and husband Paul, and Judy Arnold all of Mount Airy; two grandchildren: Shari Blair and husband Bryan of New Market and Robert Arnold of Mount Airy; six great grandchildren: Kristine Arnold, Brooke Arnold, Nicole Arnold, Danielle Blair and partner Chris Kittelton, Courtney Blair and Ben Blair; and a great-great granddaughter, Abbie Kittelton.
Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald Stevens and William Duvall.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy.
A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
