Ruth Danner

Mrs. Ruth Irene Danner, age 93 of Frederick, MD passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2017, with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Edward T. Danner, who died four days earlier. Ruth was living with her daughter in Thurmont, MD at the time of her passing.

Born on February 9, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Willard E. Sayler and Esther R. (Martz) Sayler. Ruth worked at Sagners for many years before opening her home daycare for 30 years. She and Edward enjoyed playing bingo and taking bus trips.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Patricia Garst and Sharon McKinney. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Additionally, a sister Margaret S. Powers also survives.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Wednesday, January 4, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick where funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, January 5, with Rev. Helen Smith officiating.

Interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro.
