Ruth Darlene Boone

Ruth Darlene Boone died on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Sterling Care South Mountain as a result of a prolonged illness.

Born January 22, 1947 in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Meredith and Bertha Boone.  

Darlene worked for the United States Postal Service for 27 years, retiring in 2012.  She will be remembered for her love of crocheting, her green thumb and amazing Christmas cactus plants, and her angel collection.

Darlene is survived by her son, Jeffrey W. Boone, and wife Margot, grandchildren Jeffrey W.Boone Jr, and Joshua A. Boone, eight great-grandchildren, Rylan, Molly, Dalton, Emory, Azrielle, Everly, Easton, and Ellison, and one sister, Bertha Morgan.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Harvey, James, Ralph and Ronald, and sisters Doris, Geraldine, Amy and Mary.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, with a memorial service to begin at 3 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim May.
