Russell E. Rice, Sr. "Buck" passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2016 at his home in Thurmont. Beloved husband of Helen Irene Rice and the late Dorothy White Rice and Barbara Ann Bollinger Rice; father of Russell E. (Ginger) Rice, Jr. of Thurmont and Cynthia A. White of Waynesboro, PA.;brother of Betty Jane Shuff and Hilda Schildt both of Thurmont and the late Joe, Adam, Isaac, Daisy, Rose and Mary; also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 stepchildren.
Russell was a truck driver for 25 years, a member of Harmony Church of the Brethren for 15 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and mowing his lawn.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont, MD on Thursday from 7-9 pm with funeral service on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11 am.
