Russell Fisher

Mr. Russell H. Fisher, 96, of Myersville, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his home.
Born on October 28, 1917 in Myersville, he was the son of the late Albert P. and Mamie G. (Poffenberger) Fisher.
He retired from the State of Maryland Highway Administration after 20 years.
Russell was a very active member of the Victory Christian Center in Frederick, Maryland, where he was always serving the Lord.
He enjoyed working in the vegetable garden and cutting wood.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine E. (Delaughter) Fisher; one daughter, Dorothy V. Labrush and husband Paul of Boonsboro, Maryland; two sons, Russell W. Fisher and wife Alicia of Boonsboro and Larry E. Fisher and wife Sue of Keedysville, Maryland; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Keller.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Michael D. Garland will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Harmony Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Myersville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
