Ruby Lambert

Ruby E. (Mades) Lambert, 96, formerly of Keedysville, Maryland, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Tranquillity of Fredericktowne Assisted Living in Frederick, Maryland.

Born on May 27, 1914 in Rohrersville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Winton E. and Lena (Miller) Mades.  Her husband, Earl G. Lambert preceded her in death in 1994.

Mrs. Lambert was a 1931 graduate from Boonsboro High School and had formerly been an employee with Pangborn Corporation in Hagerstown.

She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Keedysville where she volunteered as a Sunday School Teacher and served as the Organist.

Ruby was a leader with the 4-H Youth Development Organization, a volunteer at Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown and assisted with the Meals on Wheels program.

She is survived by her son Donald A. Wyand and his wife Emogene of Frederick; two grandchildren, Stephanie Wyand Inners and her husband Jim of Oro Valley, Arizona and Donald E. Wyand and his wife Deanna of Lititz, Pennsylvania; and her four great-grandchildren, Dalton and Weston Inners and Emily and Allison Wyand.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  Rev. David B. Kaplan and Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Keedysville.

Friends are invited to visit at the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.
